Quality AssuranceTest Rig:MM Accessories has a in-house test rig to check the performance of the bag for the required duty conditon i.e. for SWL of 1000/ 1500 kgs and Safety Factor of 5:1 and 6:1. As regards testing, PPPL also has an in-house test rig to conduct the cyclic and peak load tests. From every lot that is exported, one sample at random is taken on which the test is conducted. PPPL can provide a test certificate if required.
U V Testing MachineMM Accessories has a Atlas Material Testing Solutions P Ltd., USA, UV Testing Machine (Model UV2000) and all the components of FIBC are checked for UV stability in the machine. The test is carried out as per the ASTM standard. The samples of tape, fabric, yarn, belt etc are subjected to a test of 216 hours (or 144 hours). This consists of 18 cycles (or 12 cycles) of 12 hours each. Each cycle consists of 8 hours of UV radiation of 0.63 wats/ sq mtr at 60 deg C (using UVB 313 high energy sun lamps) and 4 hours of condensation. After 216 hours (or 144 hours), the samples are tested for the retentive strength. The standard provides that the retentive strength, after exposure to UV and condensation, has to be 50% of the original strength. Normally, at PPPL, retentive strength is achieved much above the norm of 50%. Tensile Testing MachineApart from the above MM Accessories has tensile testing machines for checking the tenacity of tapes, fabric and belts.
General Quality ControlAt every stage of manufacturing MM Accessories has installed QC checks for any fabric defects, printing defects, stitching defects, dimensions and cleanliness. Every individual Jumbo Bags / Bulk bags manufactured is inspected by qualified and experienced inspectors. A sample of about 5% is again inspected by an independent QC inspector for all the parameters from the final lot before despatch from the factory. Each bag sent to the customer has a tracking code number to help PPPL track the bag and the source of the problem, if any. |
